Fossil Hunting in Southeastern Minnesota
Pictures of fossils found in South East Minnesota. My girlfriend and I have been tearing apart Southeast Minnesota for the past 2 months looking for fossils. We've been fairly successful so far. We have 12 or so Trilobite tails, 2 (possibly 3) enrolled Trilobites, numerous excellent cephalopods, and countless brachiopods, bryozoa, and pelecypods. As of 11/8/10 a complete trilobite eludes us.

Dung? Eggs? Crinoids?
Not sure what this is? I think it might be a fairly eroded crinoid cluster. Candie found it in a subdivision under development.

Future Plans for the Blog
I intend to attempt to identify taxonomy for each fossil. I have numerous excellent small specimens but I lack a camera capable of doing competent macro shots. I plan to upgrade my camera soon. I have several field trips planned in the next few weeks and hope to have some new specimens to document.
